Hair color on a budget

Hair color is a big trend in the Philippines. More and more women and men have their hair colored to spice up their looks. Some are hesitant to have their hair colored, but some are wild and adventurous to the extent that they change their hair color thrice a month(I don't recommend it though).

The question is, "What if you don't have enough money to have your hair colored in a salon?"

140 PESOS. That's all you need.

Go to an HBC store near you. Your 140 pesos comes with one coloring cream and one oxidizing lotion. Well this is for short hair though. If your hair is medium length, buy 2 creams and 2 oxidizing lotions. If you have super long hair, buy 3.I recommend chestnut brown(good color for first-timers), light chestnut brown, copper(super red), light havana, beech blonde and golden blonde.

Hortaleza-Vaciador something something(sorry I forgot the name) is another store where you can also find good hair coloring creams. It's different from HBC, but I think they're sister companies(not sure). Ask for MONDES. It's a brand of coloring cream slightly expensive compared to those of HBC's(160 pesos and comes with one coloring cream and one oxidizing lotion), It's a good coloring cream too. I recommend red blonde, light blonde, ash blonde, very light blonde. :)

Tips on hair color:

1. Always remember that most likely your hair will be half as much the color you see in the catalog. Your hair will never look exactly the same with the samples you see. Don't be afraid of brighter colors.

2 Oxidizing lotion comes in 6 percent, 9 percent and 12 percent. The higher the percentage, the brighter the color and the shinier your hair will be.If you want a darker shade, go for 6 percent.

3. Always consider your skin tone. A whiter complexion gives you a right to try on brighter colors.

4. Never go black. The darkest color you can have is chestnut brown. If you go black then return to something brighter, the color won't take effect. You will have to bleach it, then color it again. Boom! Your hair is damaged.

5. Don't try drugstore coloring creams like Revlon, Loreal, etc. They're made for Caucasian hair not for Asian hair. I've tried it and sadly got 20% of the color shown in the package(BOO!). They're good brands if you'll have your hair colored in a professional salon.

6. BLEACH = DAMAGE

Technically, it's the second day of the semester since I'm too lazy to go to school yesterday. Whatever! I consider this day as my first for the last semester.

I don't know what to feel. But one thing's for sure. I can't sleep.

Buying Dilemma

Don't expect.

Today, I bought a coloring cream from Revlon. And I'm very disappointed. My hair is nowhere near the picture on the box.

If you see pretty boxes of products, always remember there's a reason behind it. They are trying to sell you stuff, and of course, they will try to entice you with the very first thing you see, its packaging.

Sadly, most of of the products with pretty boxes are not really that good, but there are some good products who comes in good packaging as well. The price is costly though. Finding a good bargain is hard to achieve nowadays(sobs).

An Awkward Moment
